Baby Massage

Developed for the first six weeks of life this massage is taught to new parents and other caregivers by a certified Baby's First Massage instructor. It is important for maximum benefit to schedule the teaching session soon after baby is born. After six weeks, for a full term baby, Infant Massage techniques can be incorporated. The therapist demonstrates techniques that encourage a strong bond with baby as they help baby adjust to their new body. Benefits of newborn massage may include; better digestion for faster weight gain and greater comfort when experiencing gas related pain; stimulation of nervous system which may help build muscle tone, coordination, and brain functioning; quicker healing of birth-related trauma; deeper more restful sleep; and stimulation of the immune system
