My desire to become a physician began at an early age. Our family physician, Dr. Charlie Britt, was a huge influence on me. He really cared about his patients and treated them with compassion. My father taught me the importance of treating others as you want to be treated. I have found that if you listen to your patients they will tell you what you need to know to help them. I was fortunate to attend the medical College of Georgia in Augusta. It was there that I learned the basic medicine that is the foundation for what I do today. I eventually found that Pain Management was my calling. The Pain Management Fellowship at The University of Cincinnati was on the cutting edge of modern medicine, and this is how I practice today.
