About Murdock Trust:
Established in 1975, the M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust provides grants throughout the Pacific Northwest to nonprofit organizations that enrich the community. Murdock Trust grant recipients include academic, cultural, health, and scientific institutions that combine innovative research with efforts to ensure an equitable future for all. Created in 1975 with $91 million in funding, today The Murdock Trust has grown to more than $1.2 billion in assets managed. Its activities span Montana, Idaho, Oregon, Washington, and Alaska, with many recipients having longstanding connections with the foundation. This reflects an emphasis on accountability and follow-up in grant-making versus simple transactions made in support of worthy organizations. In distributing grants, priority is given to organizations that embody efforts to better lives and emphasize the power of hope. Recipients include many of the region’s most recognized educational institutions, including the Oregon Health and Science University/Oregon Graduate Institute and the University of Washington.
