About ACR Solar:
Al Rich has been a leader and entrepreneur in the solar water heating industry continuously since 1979. He was awarded a Distinguished Achievement in Clean Tech award in November 2011. Mr. Rich holds 4 US Solar Patents. He is expert at designing viable products and successfully launching them to the marketplace at low cost. He received his 4th Patent for the MegaMat in 2000. He founded SolarRoofs.com in 1997 to manufacture his third Patent, the Skyline water heater. In 1993 Al was one of less than 580 out of over 30,000 applicants to be recognized by the DOE Energy Related Inventions Program (ERIP). In 1992 he won a DOE National Award for Energy Innovation with state of NH. In 1990 he was the consultant to Green Peace and PrimeTime Live on Whitehouse Solar Gate story. In 1988 he invented, Patented, prototyped and manufactured the innovative Skylite water heater. He was a consultant and Lecturer on Inventors and Entrepreneurship at the University of VA.
