In 1968, Bill and Dolores Harrer purchased this ranch and since then it has been called "Harrer's Lost Lake Ranch". The Hereford cattle were gradually changed to an all Angus operation, reflecting the Harrer Angus roots. The Great Plains Conservation was utilized to help build fences and lay pipelines in order to control grazing and water distribution. The land and buildings are owned by the Harrer family corporation. Maintaining and improving the environment is a primary goal of all.
