A Montgomery teenager appeared to be an All-American girl as she played volleyball, participated in school activities, and worked her job. But off the court, the now 18-year-old Regan Steinert said she struggled with substance abuse.
"I think a lot of kids are really depressed in my generation," Steinert said. "I think a lot of kids my age don't know how to cope with big things or small situations. The most common thing around is drugs. Most kids these days don't go outside and play anymore.
