The grasshopper invasion of the Las Vegas Valley is well underway. "They're everywhere," one man said. Many notice them during the daytime, but once the sun sets, they're seen swarming bright sources of light in different places throughout the Valley. “They’re used to a light level, say, moonlight. Put a bright streetlight out there and it just overwhelms their receptors," University of Nevada, Las Vegas professor Allen Gibbs said. He is an insect expert.
