We offer classes and workshops in Pilates Mat, Yoga, Slackline, Acro Yoga & The Melt Method.
Pilates Mat Classes
Limited to four people, these classes are open to all levels and vary to include a broad spectrum of exercises and props. Note: pre-registration is required and private instruction is highly recommended for those new to Pilates.
Hatha Yoga
is a holistic path, comprising postures (asanas), Purification procedures, breathing (pranayama), gestures (mudras), and meditation. All of which are meant to guide practitioners to a more enlightened and therefore peaceful state of being. Hatha is represented as two energies, hot/cold, masculine/feminine, solar/lunar, energetic/passive, yin/yang, etc...
Yin Yoga
Yin Yoga is a more passive, complimentary practice to the aggressive forms of exercise that bind or tighten us up. This class is accessible to all and at the same time, probably the most valuable. In this class we will integrate knowledge of the physical, energetic, emotional, mental,and wisdom states of being. Yin and Yang Class Description
A combination of the two classes described above, Zach will be teaching this hour and a half class which will focus on balancing out the body and mind via active and passive asanas (postures), pranayama (breathing) and at times, will intertwine it all with some melodic chanting.
The Melt Method

Slackline Yoga
Slackline Yoga (or slackasana) has been described as "distilling the art of yogic concentration." To balance on a 1? peice of webbing lightly tensioned between two trees is not easy, and doing yoga poses on it is even more challenging. Yet despite the seemingly impossible nature of the act, it is achievable by almost anyone with a little bit of perseverance and patience. The practice has many layers, simultaneously developing focus, dynamic balance, power, breath, core integration, flexibility, and confidence.entlest form of exercise. The members of team YogaSlackers have collectively taught over 100,000 people (from 2 to 82 yrs old) to successfully embrace this amazing form of asana. We have developed a special line and simple tensioning system, allowing for practitioners to learn safely and experience the benefit of a wide range of dynamic energies while on the line.
Slackasana Practice
During warmer months come practice slackasana on Saturdays and/or Sundays with Mara and Zach during Acro and Slackline playtime. You will learn the basics of kneeling, sitting, standing and possibly arm-balancing on the slackline. Zach and Mara will play to your strengths to help you develop an empowering slackline practice. There are currently 77 Yogaslacker teachers worldwide and you have two of them here in Wilmington, Delaware!
Acro Yoga
Acrobatics are the performance of balance, coordination, and agility. When this performance art is combined with the great lineages of yoga and therapeutics the result is amazing and playful art. Yoga Acrobatics are a partner practice which creates a community of people sustained by trust, communication, and playfulness. Individuals will find that a partnered practice offers a source for safe connection, sustained by trust, communication and playfulness. The training has a profound impact one's views of yoga and how it can be practiced.
Acro Playtime
During the Summer months, on Some Sundays or by appointment, join Mara and Zach in the playful practice of Acro Yoga. Come play!
Slackers
Watch Super Slacker, Adi Carter in "Flip it and Reverse it" which demonstrates excellent transitions for moving from one asana to the next on the slackline!
Acro heads
Jason and Chelsey Magness are some of the most infamous American Acro Yogis who travel and teach all over the world. Play with Jason and Chelesy of the Yogaslackers using their online Acro Yoga Library! which covers everything from basics to the crazy advanced with some great drills to build the practice.

Indoor Yoga classes run from late Fall through early Spring. Sundays: 9-10:25am
Indoor Acro Playtime (limited to 10 pre-registered participants)
These classes will be held late Fall through early Spring. Sunday: 10:30-12pm
Yoga in the Park
When it starts to warm up and dry out in the late Spring, Mara and Zach host Yoga in thePark Classes in Rockford Park by the Water Tower.
Vital Pilates is excited to offer Youth-Oriented Yoga to your c-OM-m-Unity. Expect your children to enjoy the ancient practice of Yoga via present day, age-appropriate activities which will focus on:

Learning to coordinate their breath with physical movement
