A paced class that keeps you moving through the exercises improving your muscle alignment, muscle tone, strength, flexibility & stamina. Oxygenating and invigorating. Turning Point Pilates teachers insure your safe and proper form advancing you as your body is ready. Open level. Limited to 4 participants.
In this interval training class, cardio is added to the benefits of the Reformer. Students 'jump' against light and heavy spring resistance interspersed with Reformer exercise. Jump raises your heart rate while strengthening glutes, abdominals, legs and arms but doesn't put stress on your joints. Reformer experience is recommended. Limited to 4 participants.
Mat Classes tone, strengthen, lengthen and increase flexibility for core muscles but instead of using the Reformer's equipment to create resistance, in Mat Class we apply the body's own weight. That doesn't mean that that a Mat Class is easier. Our traditional Pilates Mat class invigorates your entire body and increases stamina. Our focus is on form, precision, breath and flow. Though Mat Classes are less expensive than Reformer because they are not equipment dependent, your body will get similar benefits. Teachers present exercises at multiple levels. Limited to 6 participants.
What is The Reformer? It's a carefully thought through piece of equipment that will be fundamental to your Classical Pilates practice and, literally, re-form your body. Its adjustable springs generate the resistance that tones, strengthens and lengthens different muscles. In this small class—never more than five students-we'll teach you the names and purposes of the Reformer's cables, pulleys and bars as well as their use. And, of course—we'll get you moving!

A southern girl born and raised in Little Rock, Arkansas, her career took her to New York City. She earned her teaching certification from Equinox in New York City in 2012. In 2012 Sonia relocated from New York to Los Angeles. . Sonia fell in love with Pilates when it helped her recover from a chronic disc issue in her neck. Years as a digital producer (read: sitting at a desk for 40+ hours a week) didn't help with degenerative discs either. Encouraged by her own progress, she decided to combine her love of helping others with a role that gets her moving and out of her desk chair. Sonia believes it is crucial to Move. Well. Every. Day. She loves to help her clients build strong bodies through mind-body connections so that they thrive in their everyday lives.
Maria grew up on the east coast, where she began her love of movement with dance. Once in LA she pursued an acting and dance career and created her family. Having 3 children back to back put some strain on her spine. When chiropractic care failed, she tried Pilates. Being a movement enthusiast, Pilates was an immediate fit. After 8 years of being a devotee to Pilates she enrolled in the Teacher Training Program with The Pilates Institute of Southern California (PISC), where she graduated in 2005. She has an additional certification from The Pilates Center, Boulder. Maria continues her Pilates education by attending Pilates seminars and workshops regularly.
Kevin studied dance as a child growing up in Europe, Latin America, and Washington, D.C. In 2010, she fulfilled a long held desire to relocate to Southern California. During her long career as an intellectual property paralegal, she practiced yoga, earning a 500 hour teacher certification from Erich Schiffmann at The Santa Barbara Yoga Center. She continues to teach yoga and meditation, and has written and conducted corporate workshops for managing stress. Health issues led Kevin to discover Pilates in 2004 and in healing her body, she became passionate to teach. She earned a certification from Mark Trudeau in 2005 and graduated from Core Dynamics Teacher Training in 2012, studying with second-generation teacher Michele Larsson, who had apprenticed under first-generation teacher, Eve Gentry. Kevin apprenticed under several second and third generation teachers, and completed an intensive study of Pilates for scoliosis with Michele Larsson in 2006. Kevin loves helping students find the connection within to reach their personal highest movement potential.

Roxanne's path in the integrated body arts sprung from her love for dance. She trained under the Russian Vaganova method of classical ballet for 8 years and later joined the corps de ballet of the Philippines' most prestigious ballet company, Ballet Manila. It was there that she performed professionally in a number of the company's classical repertoire such as Swan Lake, Giselle, La Bayadere, Don Quixote, The Nutcracker, Le Corsaire, Carmen, Sleeping Beauty to name a few. To this day, she continues her passion for dance by teaching ballet at her neighborhood dance studio in Tarzana, CA. She later took Pilates classes to enhance the strength and artistry of her craft under the tutelage of Cecilia Sicangco-Ibarrola, former artistic director and principal dancer of Ballet Philippines. Roxanne chose the classical method of Pilates by Romana Kryzanowska, a direct student of Joseph Pilates because she valued the authenticity and effectivity of Romana's method. She entered True Pilates New York's Teacher Trainer Program with Level II Instructor Trish Garland and has so far completed 450 hours of teacher training hours, exceeding the Pilates Method Alliance's required certification hours.
