  • Deep Tissue Massage

    deep tissue massage is a massage technique that focuses on the deeper layers of muscle tissue. deep tissue massage uses many of the same movements and techniques as swedish massage, but the pressure will generally be more intense. it is also a more focused type of massage aimed to release chronic muscle tension or knots, also known as "adhesions". slower strokes and more direct, deep pressure and friction is applied across the grain of the muscle. it shouldn't hurt, but it's likely to be a bit more uncomfortable than a classic swedish massage.

  • Pregnancy Massage

    pregnancy massage is done in a side-lying position using cushions or pillows. this position is comfortable and safe, and allows easy access to the hips, legs, back and arms. one side of the body is worked on at a time. recieving regular massage helps relieve pregnancy's unique aches and pains caused by extra weight, changing structural alignment, and hormones. studies have shown that regular massage during pregnancy contributes to shorter, less painful labor and can reduce labor complications, medication, and interventions.

  • Hot Stone Massage

    hot soothing stone massage is a specialty massage that uses smooth, heated(120-135) basalt stones, a black volcanic rock that absorbs and retains heat well. it is a deeply soothing and relaxing form of massage. traditional swedish massage strokes are used while holding a heated stone. as the stone cools, it is replaced with another. heated stones also may be placed along your spine, around your sholder blades, or in the palms of your hands while the therapist works on other areas.

    reflexology is a gentle form of massage in which pressure is applied to certain parts of the feet and hands in order to promote relaxation and healing elsewhere in the body. it is based on the belief that each part of the body including major oragans is interconnected through the nervous system to the hands and feet. stimulating specific reflex points in the feet and hands can bring relief to poorly functioning areas of the body systems and organs.
