    • Ruvei Barbera D'Alba

Production Zone: The Barbera d'Alba is the most traditional wine among Piedmont wines. The grapes come from vineyards of mainly calcareous clay soils, alternating with layers of whitish marl, able to ensure the wine an excellent structure and to equip it with a vigorous but balanced character. The product specification allows for the vinification of Barbera d'Alba also with a small percentage (up to 15%) of Nebbiolo d'Alba, in order to increase finesse and elegance. The Cantine dei Marchesi di Barolo uses this opportunity, together with the selection of the locations of the vineyards and the attention to the perfect maturation of the grapes, the wine achieves more softness and structure, but with low acidity. Cultivation of the Vineyard: The vines are grown with Guyot (VSP trellised) system with good slope. Vinification: Grapes are collected exclusively by hand, quickly brought to the cellar for destalking and soft pressing to extract from the peel and the outer area of the grape only the most noble and aromatic fractions. Fermentation, at a controlled temperature, takes place in thermo-conditioned tanks. Maceration of the skins lasts 8 days, during which the fermenting juice is regularly recycled from the bottom to the top of the tank in order to integrate the tannins softly and extract the color slowly. This procedure is finished throughout when the wine is almost completely dry.

    • Querceto Chianti Classico

Chianti is the most famous wine name in Italy is not the name of a grape but actually a region. Chianti lies in the 35 miles of hills between Florence and Siena, a complex geological region as well as geographically. The extraordinary geography makes grape growing a very challenging feat with multiple exposures and soil types on the same estate. The region comprises 9 different communes not dissimilar to Bordeaux wherein each commune has a particular characteristic that shows in the wine. The wine is made predominantly Sangiovese, the grape must comprise at least 80% of the blend. Chianti Classico is the "classic" region, though many other nearby regions now use the name "Chianti" to make similar wines. The "Gallo Nero" or Black Rooster on many of the Chianti Classico bottles is a private consortium of producers who try and control the direction of production and quality amongst their members.

    • Col D'Orcia, Rosso Di Montaicino

Col d'Orcia is the feted producer of one of Italy's most revered red wines: Brunello di Montalcino. Situated near the medieval hilltop village of Montalcino in Tuscany's Siena province, the estate has a rich winemaking history that dates back to the 1700s. In the hands of the Cinzano family since 1973, Col d'Orcia is owned by Count Francesco Marone Cinzano, who oversees day-to-day operations with estate manager, Edoardo Virano. Winemaking at Col d'Orcia is entrusted to chief enologist Antonino Tranchida with Maurizio Castelli as consulting enologist. Production Area: Located in southern Montalcino in the area of Sant Angelo in Colle. The vines enjoy a favorable southern exposure granting the vineyards with the blessing of the sun rays the whole day long. Average height is about 1000 ft above sea level. Grape Varieties: 100% Sangiovese.

    • Ruffino Riserva "Ducale Gold"

The Story: This fabled Ruffino wine has been one of our most prized since it was first released in 1927. Riserva Ducale is crafted using modern winemaking techniques to enhance traditional Italian methods, and is widely acknowledged as a benchmark for Chianti Classico Riserva. Why this name? Ducale means 'duke' in Italian. Riserva Ducale honors the Duke of Aosta who braved a journey over the Alps to taste the Ruffino wines that he had heard so much about. He was so impressed by the wine that in 1890 he appointed Ruffino as the official supplier to the Italian royal family. This honor is not only reflected in the wine's name, but is depicted on its iconic label, one of the most recognized in the world of Italian wine. Tasting Notes: This complex and deep red wine is characterized by sweet cherry and red berry fruit notes with delicately spiced hints of tobacco, leather, cedar, white pepper and a touch of flint. It's well balanced on the palate, with velvety tannins, firm acidity and a lingering finish of rosemary and figs. Its structure will allow it to age for many years.

  • Merlot

    • Camelot

With its versatility and depth of fantastic fruity flavor, Merlot is one of the key grape varietals which has truly conquered the world of wines. Grown all over Europe, the Americas and elsewhere, Merlot grapes are distinguishable by their beautiful blue color and loose hanging bunches. They are a favorite with wineries due to their light tannin content and low levels of malic acid, meaning that Merlot wines are extremely drinkable and carry a depth of flavors which is at once fleshy and full, without being overpowering or challenging for the drinker. Merlots are often used for blending, as their roundedness and mellow nature is a perfect way to balance out more astringent varietals, leading to fuller, more complex and silky quality wines. Indeed, many of the finest wineries in the world in esteemed locations across countries such as France and Italy are famed for their habit of using ripened Merlot grapes to their full potential.

    • La Crema

A challenge from vine to glass, Pinot Noir can be a notorious failure - except in tiny, cool-climate pockets of the world where its subtle brilliance is revealed. The coolest and most northern source of our appellation releases, Anderson Valley has proven to be a remarkable region for Pinot. Vineyards are just 10-15 miles from the rugged Mendocino Coast and vines struggle on steep slopes, developing complex, small berries. This fruit is unusually graceful, developing elegant blueberry and bright red cherry flavors, overlaid with delicate tea and layered floral notes.

  • Chardonnay

    • Pacific Bay

Varietal: Chardonnay For most people, the Chardonnay grape varietal is one of the quintessential white wine grapes. It isn't difficult to understand why; Chardonnay may well have started off in regions of France (where it is still used widely today in both single variety white wines as well as sparkling Champagne wines) but it is now grown in every wine producing country in the world. Indeed, it was the New World that took Chardonnay to some exciting new extremes this relatively neutral grape has the fantastic ability to carry much of its terroir in the bottle, resulting in a fascinating range of flavors and styles. Furthermore, Chardonnay is one of the few white wine grapes which is well suited to aging, as can be seen in some of the excellent produce consistently coming out of Burgundy, and elsewhere in the world. With everything from buttery, creamy characteristics to vibrant tropical fruit notes, Chardonnay will never cease to surprise and impress.
