    About Balanced Body University.

    • Interested in becoming a Certified Pilates instructor, or broadening your knowledge of Pilates?

      Dragonfly Pilates is pleased to be a host site for Balanced Body, an international teacher training organization of Pilates.

    • Balanced Body offers a full range of Pilates instructor certification programs.

      Whether you are interested in teaching on equipment, the mat, or any of the many Pilates props, Balanced Body has the resources you need to succeed.

    • The Balanced Body Pilates Instructor training program is designed to create thoughtful, creative and successful Pilates teachers.

      Our curriculum emphasizes the principles underlying each exercise. The program is designed in modules so you can take your first course now and continue your training next week, next month or next year. Each module is self contained so you can take them as quickly or as slowly as your schedule and budget allow. In addition to our instructor certification program, we offer a number of additional modules as well as workshops.

    • Registration for these courses is done through Balanced Body Education online or by calling 877-PILATES (877-745-2837).

    • Walk-ins

      Walk-ins are welcome; however, to guarantee your spot in class, please pre-register via phone or internet. No class will be reserved without pre-payment.

    • Scheduling Classes

      Classes can only be reserved with an open and current package; a spot will not be held without "pre-payment." Packages can be purchased in studio or online at www.DragonflyPilates.com

    • Cancellation Policy

      Dragonfly Pilates maintains a 12-hour cancellation policy. Clients canceling ANY session, including standing appointments, within 12 hours of class start time will be charged for the session. Classes must be cancelled either in person or via text message to 412.445.7137 to avoid charge. In case of inclement weather, call the studio or check www.Dragonflypilates.com for cancellation information

    • Packages

      Packages expire 90 days after purchase and are non-refundable and non-transferrable. Introductory Packages are for new clients only.

    • Tardiness

      Classes start and end on time. Arrive early to register and prepare for class. Classes are closed 15-minutes after start. Tardy participants will be charged for the entire class. No entry will be permitted once the class is closed.

    • Safety

      To ensure the safety of our clients, Dragonfly Pilates reserves the right to refuse entry to a class that is beyond the participants' fitness level.

    • Apparatus Circuit

      Work your way around the Pilates world! This class is a strength-building journey on each apparatus. From reformer to tower to chair to Bodhi, neither your mind or body will be bored!

    • Balanced Body Barre

      Finally - an intense and innovative body shaping workout that is Pilates-based, challenging AND safe! This class burns fat, strengthens and lengthens muscles, and creates a lean silhouette-- a winning combination that gives the tone, shape and definition we all desire!

    • Beginner Apparatus

      Each apparatus class includes the use of uniquely designed apparatus in conjunction with the mat work. The apparatus use springs and supports, creating isometric resistance with the body's weight to massage, align, stretch, and strengthen muscles. This class is for those new to the apparatus or Pilates in general

    • Beginner Mat

      Pilates Matwork helps to re-pattern the body to its natural postural ideal, while also developing overall strength, flexibility and body awareness. This class is a great way to learn the fundamentals of the Pilates Method

    • Beginner / Intermediate Mat

      Pilates Matwork helps to re-pattern the body to its natural postural ideal, while also developing overall strength, flexibility and body awareness. This class is for both those new to Pilates and those fluent in the Method, with an understanding of the execution of each exercise. Instructor approval required

    • Bodhi Suspension System

      Suspension Training Just Grew Up. The Bodhi System is the perfect blend of strength and bodyweight conditioning, Pilates, and balance training. By taking the body out of alignment with gravity, the body's deep core muscles are challenged, and total body strength, dynamic stability, and flexibility occur. The ideal complement to your Pilates or personal training practice, Bodhi adds standing, balance, and stability elements that bodies respond to and enjoy

    • Dynamic Stretch

      You don't need ballet training to benefit from this combination of dynamic and orthopedic stretches that will combine flowing movements with deep muscle stretching and balance work. This is NOT a dance class, but you'll feel like shaking a tail feather afterward!

    • Intermediate Apparatus

      Each apparatus class includes the use of uniquely designed apparatus in conjunction with the mat work. The apparatus use springs and supports, creating isometric resistance with the body's weight to massage, align, stretch, and strengthen muscles. This class is for those fluent in the Apparatus repertoire. Instructor approval is required

    • Intermediate / Advanced Apparatus

      Each apparatus class includes the use of uniquely designed apparatus in conjunction with the mat work. The apparatus use springs and supports, creating isometric resistance with the body's weight to massage, align, stretch, and strengthen muscles. This moderate-to-high intensity class is for those with a near mastery of the apparatus work. Instructor approval is required

    • JUMP!

      Aerobic workout on the mini trampoline with toning, strengthening and stretching exercises

    • JUMP!

      a :40 minute cardio class incorporating the Jumpboard, large balls, BOSU and jump ropes. You''ll crawl out drenched and ready for more! Instructor Approval Required

    • Mat with Toys

      By combining the ball, BOSU, foam roller, magic circle and towel exercises, this class challenges the core in ways you've never experienced. Instructor approval is required to attend this class

    • Pilates Interval

      This reformer-based class includes intervals using on the jumpboard and adds a strength training with hand weights, balls, and Bodhi. You're guaranteed a good sweat!

    • Power Mat

      Push your mat work to the next level! Low reps, high intensity, and seamless flow make this class challenging and fun

    • Restorative Pilates

      Ever feel like you want to slow the workout down a little? Need to feel the work a little deeper? If so, Restorative Pilates is for you! This class focuses on the Concentration and Breathing principles of Pilates—deepening the mind/body connection while gently working the body. The class is restorative in nature, therefore it's safe for every body

    • Stretch

      The goal of this class is to lengthen and strengthen bodies of all ages and sizes while eliminating chronic tension and movement limitations. The class is restorative in nature, therefore it's safe for every body
