• Laser Hair Removal Consultations & Appointments

  The Candela GentleMAX takes hair removal technology to the next level, by combining the capabilities of two of Candela's top laser systems, the long pulse GentleYAG laser, and the GentleLASE alexandrite laser system. With the combined power of these two laser systems, the Candela GentleMAX effectively removes facial hair and body hair for all skin types and most hair types. The broad spectrum of the GentleMAX's multiple wavelength laser technology provides different laser intensities, which is how the GentleMAX can treat everything from facial veins to unwanted leg hair.

  • Prior to Your Appointment

    Surface hair needs to be shaved as close to the skin as possible allowing the energy from the laser to reach the root of the hair follicle. Please avoid any type of tanning in the area 3-4 weeks prior to the appointment

  • Arrival Time

    Please arrive 15 minutes early to complete laser hair removal intake & history forms

  • Treatment Time

    The treatments can vary from 15 minutes to 1-3 hours depending on the area being treated. For example, small areas such as face, bikini and underarms can take 15 minutes while lower legs can take 45-60 minutes. During the consultation the treatment time will be determined depending on the area or areas being treated

  • Post Treatment

    After the treatment the area will have some redness, the hair follicle will "welt" up, looking somewhat like goose bumps for up to 1-2 hours. The hair does not disappear at the time of the treatment but will fall out or "shed" 1-2 weeks after treatment

  • Frequency

    Each area requires 6 treatments to get rid of 80-90% of the hair. For the head of the body one will re-treat every 4 weeks, for the trunk of the body every 6 weeks, and for the lower part of the body every 8-10 weeks. After the 6th treatment one is considered to be on maintenance. At this point individual results can last anywhere from 2-3 months before any re-growth is observed with a goal of reaching up to 6 months or longer before another treatment is needed

  • Facial Recommendations

    On a regular basis, professional facials are recommended every 4-6 weeks. During times of stress or menopause, facials can be given on a weekly basis because skin can be unpredictable and experience breakouts

    To prolong the results of a facial, it is recommended that you are diligent with your home care program, cleansing; exfoliating, moisturizing and protecting. Remember the first steps to beautiful skin is drinking plenty of water and never skip the sun protection!

  • This Appointment Lasts Approximately 30 Minutes

    It is recommended to have a follow up appointment 7-10 days after a chemical exfoliation to receive a microdermabrasion for the removal of dead skin
