Backyard Ponds and Waterfalls
If you’re considering backyard ponds and waterfalls as part of your landscape, you’ve come to the right place! Backyard Paradise Landscaping & Ponds staff have extensive expertise in helping you design a pond to meet all your practical and aesthetic needs. We are your best choice for landscaping in Delaware. Before your initial consultation, it is worth giving some thought to the following aspects of your customized pond. During your property visits, we will work with you to further refine all aspects of the project.
Location
Think about where you’ll spend the most time enjoying your pond feature. The ideal pond location is one where you can take advantage of the wonderful views and sounds that a pond provides. Typically, ponds and their inhabitants benefit from plentiful shade during the spring and summer seasons although certain plants may require several hours of direct sunlight each day. When direct sunlight is not an option, UV lighting may be incorporated to help your plants thrive. Be mindful of surrounding trees that may create excess pond debris, and choose a higher elevation in your landscape to prevent backyard runoff into your pond area.
Size & Layout
Do you have a specific style of pond in mind? Do prefer a more naturalized or tailored appearance? If you plan to keep koi or other pond fish, their habitat requirements may necessitate a certain size and/or water depth. For example, koi typically require at least a 30” depth for hibernation or overwintering.
Additional Aesthetic Elements
