Interior remodeling begins for Ricetta's Brick Oven Ristorante in Saco
SACO — Work is set to begin soon for the interior remodeling of a new Ricetta's Brick Oven Ristorante. The Falmouth-based restaurant is opening a Saco location at 512 Main St., the site of the former Kerrymen Pub. The Kerrymen Pub was a destination for live music and traditional Irish food in Saco for 40 years, and was started by brothers John, Richard, David and Paul Kerry and their cousin Jimmy Sullivan in 1978. The Kerrymen Pub closed in October and the Kerry family announced in January that it had been sold. Ricetta's replied to a query on its Facebook page recently stating that the Saco restaurant would open in late summer or early fall. BIDDEFORD — Denny's fans will have to wait a little longer to order a Grand Slam breakfast, as plans to open the restaurant have been delayed. Plans have been in the works for more than six months to open a Denny's restaurant at 45 Boulder Way. The building is the site of a former Ruby Tuesday restaurant and has been vacant since August 2016. Earlier this year, a spokesman from the diner chain said the restaurant was expected to open in May or June, however the opening date has been postponed. Spokesman Paul Spencer said in an email on Thursday there is no exact opening date, but the company expects to open the restaurant in the third quarter, sometime between July and September.
