Children are the most at-risk population to the health effects of ozone because their lungs are still growing and developing. They are also more likely to be outside in the summer when ozone levels are the highest, increasing their exposure. Other at-risk populations include senior citizens, people who are active outdoors, especially outdoor workers, and anyone with asthma as their attacks more frequent and painful.
