U=U Message Gaining Traction
The U=U message is gaining traction, but more work remains according to a study released late last month.
Almost 84% of HIV-positive men understood that undetectable means untransmittable, according to the study, which focused solely on men. Among 111,747 men who don’t identify as heterosexual, 53% knew HIV could not be transmitted by individuals with undetectable viral levels.
However, only 54% of HIV-negative men knew that undetectable = untransmittable, researchers found.
