BOULDER, Colo. -- After days battling a wildfire that spread along Sunshine Canyon in Boulder County, crews finally contained the blaze Monday evening. Residents who were forced to evacuate returned home Monday morning. The Larson family packed up their necessities early Sunday morning. Officials discover body of South Bend teen, 17, who went missing in Lake Michigan
The body of missing South Bend teenager Rahem Mason was found in Berrien County on Thursday, July 11, 2019, according to a press release. Mason disappeared at Michigan City’s Washington Park beach. According to the DNR, witnesses said they saw Mason go under around 7 p. m. Saturday and they never saw him resurface. Search crews have been combing Lake Michigan this past week attempting to find any trace of the 17-year-old.

SHAES reminds residents of home preparedness tips to avoid fire
An Allegan County family is starting the new year homeless. A massive fire burned a majority of their home in Casco Township, Monday. South Haven Area Emergency Services said authorities are working to find out what sparked the flames. Cpt. Ron Ridley said about 80 percent of the family’s home is now destroyed. He said one of the family dogs died in the fire. Ridley explained the fire was so big that three additional departments were called to help put it out.
