Shopko announces bankruptcy, closing 13 Utah stores in its restructuring plan
General merchandise retailer Shopko filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on Wednesday. One hundred stores are to close as part of the retailer's reorganization plan, including 13 stores in Utah. Shopko was not immediately able to say how many employees might be affected by the closures in the Beehive state. According to CBSNews, the company was already in the midst of closing more than 60 stores and added 38 more store closures with its bankruptcy announcement.
