Some members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints used to joke that LDS actually stood for long day Sunday. But, no more. More changes were announced by the faith's leadership over the weekend. "The most glaring omission is the absence of the savior's name,” said the churches Prophet, Russell Nelson. Nelson has officially ousted the names “Mormon” or “LDS” referring the church.

Pedestrian struck by car in Hershey
DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa. -- Police are investigating a late-night crash involving a pedestrian who was struck by a car. According to police, the pedestrian is 32-year-old Nicole L. Mikanowicz of Hershey and the driver of the car is 71-year-old Bernadette M. Papson of Lebanon. On Saturday night, Mikanowicz was allegedly crossing from the north side of East Chocolate Avenue to the south side of the roadway when she was struck by Papson. Police say Mikanowicz sustained severe injuries and was transported to Hershey Medical Center for treatment.
Mission Viejo Camp Counselor Arrested on Suspicion of Sexually Assaulting Child During Bus Ride
A Mission Viejo camp counselor has been arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting a child during a bus ride, officials announced Thursday. Nicholas David Cruz, 19, worked as a part-time camp counselor at Mission Viejo Christian Church since last December. An investigation into Cruz began on Tuesday when the mother of an 8-year-old child reported to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department that Cruz allegedly assaulted her child during the bus ride to their home in Mission Viejo from a summer camp outing in Irvine. Authorities did not elaborate on the nature of the alleged assault or the child's gender.

Hundreds of Small Earthquakes Felt in Jurupa Valley Area in Past Week
Residents in the Riverside County community of Glen Avon may be feeling a bit rattled with the recent slew of small earthquakes in the area, but the swarm of temblors is quite common, one local seismologist says. Data from Southern California Earthquake Data Center at Caltech shows hundreds of small quakes have been detected in the Glen Avon area in the past few days, but only two measured above magnitude 3.0. The residential area is part of the city of Jurupa Valley, northwest of the city of Riverside.

TOLEDO, Ohio (WNWO) -- A 19-year-old is facing murder charges after a graduation party in Toledo turned deadly Wednesday afternoon. 19-year-old Darius Stenson was arraigned in court Thursday morning. He's being held on a $1 million bond for the murder of 26-year-old Ta-Tyanna Hamilton. "It's really tragic that a graduation party ultimately leads to a homicide," said Lt. Kevan Toney, Toledo Police Department public information officer. Police were called just before 3 p. m.

But instead of focusing on her death, her family is remembering her kind spirit and how she touched others.
