McClain County Sheriff investigating Sunday shooting death near Byars
JUN 4, 2019 - BYARS -- A 76-year-old man was shot and killed Sunday, and the McClain County Sheriff's office is investigating the death, sheriff's spokesman Lt. James Richardson said. The name of the man killed has not been released. About 1:30 p.m. Sunday, deputies were called to the intersection of Sandy Avenue and 110th Street about 2 miles east of Byars in the southeast corner of the county, Richardson said. The man who was shot was dead at the scene. A man is being questioned about the shooting, Richardson said, but no arrest has been made. The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation has been requested to assist on the case. Check NewsOK.com for updates.
